Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is a neurodevelopmental disorder common among children and adolescents that can be classified in different subtypes: combined, inattentive and hyperactive. In the Italian region of Lombardy, around 79.8 percent of the ADHD patients between 2011 and 2021 who received pharmacological treatment had a combined subtype of ADHD. The sample consists of children and adolescents who were diagnosed with ADHD with the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders and were recorded in the Italian Lombardy Attention Deficit Hyperactive Register.
