In a survey conducted in June 2022, 37 percent of businesses were of the opinion that they spent significantly less time on goods and services tax (GST) compliance versus pre GST business taxation. GST is a consumption tax levied on supply of goods and services. It is comprehensive in nature and replaced a host of other indirect taxes in India. It is applicable throughout the country.
