The majority of consumers in Japan bought drinking milk on a weekly basis as revealed in a survey conducted in October 2022. While the largest share of respondents, over 24 percent, purchased milk once a week, around eight percent claimed to buy liquid milk on a daily basis.
Apart from pasteurized cow's milk, drinking milk in Japan refers to a range of processed products such as nutrient fortified milk, low-fat milk, and milk with additional cream, among others.
