In-person vs. online grocery shopping share in the U.S. 2020-2022

A survey revealed that online shoppers from the United States primarily shopped for groceries in person. In February 2022, a total of 91 percent of surveyed respondents reported shopping for groceries in person in the previous 30 days, while only 31 percent reported online grocery shopping. While the share of consumers who went shopping for groceries in person remained the same, the online grocery shopping share decreased by seven percent from September 2020 to February 2022.
