Russia's advertising revenue occupied 0.52 percent of the country's gross domestic product (GDP) in 2021. The share increased up from 0.44 percent in the previous year. In 2022, the indicator was expected to decrease significantly, down to 0.35 percent of GDP, as a consequence of the Russia-Ukraine war and its economic impact. In total, Russia's ad spend was forecast to lose 38 percent in that year.
