Waste generation split in England 2018, by source

The largest source of waste generation in England is the construction, demolition and excavation (CD&E) segment, which accounted for 64 percent of total waste generation in 2018. This amounted to some 119 million metric tons of waste materials. Households accounted for 12 percent of total waste generation in England that year. The split of waste generation in England is similar to the waste generation split in the UK, the share of CD&E was higher in England. England accounts for roughly 85 percent of total waste generation in the UK.
