Almost 100 percent of the plant biomass is terrestrial, found on land mass worldwide. Marine plants are believed to account for less than 0.2 percent of the plant biomass. Most unicellular organisms like bacteria and archaea are located in deep subsurface. Almost 78 percent of the animal biomass is found in the water bodies, while only 22 percent is found on land.
