Types of household plants purchased in the U.S. 2020
According to a survey released in 2021, flowering houseplants were the most frequently purchased houseplant category in 2020, with 41 percent of respondents in the United States stating they had purchased at least one such plant that year. Broad-leaf foliage plants and succulents shared second place, with 35 percent each.
