In 2021, 100 percent of calcium carbide sold in Russia was imported from abroad. Calcium carbide is commonly used in metal cutting and steel manufacturing. Furthermore, 96 percent of epoxy resins, which are used in the production of adhesives, coatings, and sealers, were imported to Russia from other countries in the period observed.
