The number of POS terminals available in Switzerland in 2022 increased by eight percent, the first increase in three years. Switzerland has several ways of digital payments. Debit cards outrank cash payments as a popular means of payment, for example. Additionally, the country has a local mobile payment provider, TWINT, that tries to compete against both Apple Pay and Buy Now, Pay Later (BNPL) providers in the country.
