The total number of POS payment devices available in Singapore declined by roughly five percent between 2021 and 2022. This is the first decline since 2015, and could perhaps be seen as a sign of the declining market share of cash within Singapore's POS payments. Indeed, Singapore is said to have the highest penetration rate for cashless payments in Southeast Asia.
