In 2021, 1,448 new regulation crowdfunding (Reg CF) deals took place in the United States, which was a 38 percent increase compared to the 1,042 deals registered in 2020. The number of Reg CF deals in 2019 was more than 90 percent lower than in 2020 with 541 deals. The number of crowdfunding deals started to increase significantly in 2017, after legislation on regulation crowdfunding was enacted.
