The number of outbound tourist departures from European Union member countries (EU-27) and the United Kingdom increased significantly in 2022 over the previous year, following a sharp decline due to the impact of COVID-19. Overall, Germany reported the highest figure in 2022, with nearly 87 million departures. The United Kingdom and France followed in the ranking that year, with around 71 million and 28.1 million departures, respectively.
