As of May 2022, more than three out of five (or 61 percent of) adult internet users surveyed in the United States said they were either somewhat or very interested in a prequel, sequel, or additional installment of the Jurassic World movie franchise. Pirates of the Caribbean followed, with around 58 percent of respondents expressing interest in a new production based on that film series. Meanwhile, almost 40 percent of the interviewees stated that they were "not interested at all" in a new movie from the Legendary's Monsterverse – a franchise starring creatures like Godzilla and King Kong.
