There was no climate-related disaster that occurred due to drought in the Philippines since 2020. During the observed period, nine drought disasters in total have occurred in 1980, 1983, 1987, 1990, 1998, 2002, 2007, 2015, and 2019.

The source adds the following information: “Only climate related disasters (Wildfire, Storm, Landslide, Flood, Extreme Temperature, Drought, Fog, Wave Action and Glacial Lake Outburst) are covered.”
The disasters that are covered by EM-DAT were the ones that killed ten or more people, affected 100 or more people, led to the declaration of a state of emergency, and led to a call for international assistance.
