In 2021, the number of individuals covered with at least a 4G mobile network in Sub-Saharan Africa reached 540 million. This was an increase of 105 million from 2020. Over the observed period, the Sub-Saharan African population covered by at least an LTE or WiMAX mobile network increased from only 89 million in 2015 to recent levels.
