According to a survey conducted in 2021, the majority of Kenyans, approximately 78 percent, believed that many political parties were necessary to ensure that Kenyans had a real choice when selecting political leaders. Conversely, 21 percent of Kenyans felt that it was unnecessary to have many political parties as they tended to cause division and confusion amongst the people.
