A survey conducted in 2021 revealed that 70 percent of respondents in India felt sad if someone from their family was mentally ill. Moreover, 55 percent of respondents shared that they felt anxious if a person with mental illness was a family member. On the other hand, feelings of guilt and embarrassment was felt by six percent of respondents.
