Preferred app for online grocery purchase India 2022

According to a survey on the preferences for online grocery shopping apps in India in April 2022, the majority of respondents 29 percent chose JioMart for ordering groceries online. In comparison, about five percent of respondents preferred the Zepto app for purchasing groceries online.

Despite the lifting of COVID-19 restrictions, more consumers are ordering groceries online last minute due to enhanced delivery services and contactless delivery. As a result, the market value of online grocery shopping in India amounted to 396 billion Indian rupees in 2022. Quick commerce has altered the e-commerce market by cutting the delivery time from 12-24 hours to 10-20 minutes.

Consumer behavior

A significant market for independent grocery retailers is online shoppers, particularly in the metro cities in India. Purchasing products online has become the new normal for consumers which indicates the e-commerce sector’s next great opportunity. About 63 percent of Indian consumers who purchased groceries or indulgence food online were influenced by social media. Moreover, consumers preferred to purchase groceries online with delivery services instead of click-and-collect services.
