The context in which visible minorities most frequently encountered discrimination in Canada since the COVID-19 pandemic was in public places, such as stores, banks, or restaurants. More than half of people aged 15 to 64, and 47.5 percent of people over 65, had experienced discrimination in such settings. In addition, more than a quarter of visible minorities between the ages of 15 and 24 years old had been discriminated against in an educational setting, a much higher proportion than their elders.
