Proposed coal power capacity additions in China by province 2022
Inner Mongolia is expected to see the greatest coal power capacity additions in the coming years. As of January 2022, nearly 29 gigawatts worth of coal-fired electricity generation capacity was either in the proposal stage or already under construction. This was closely followed by Shaanxi. Meanwhile, Shandong has the largest coal power capacity of any province in China.
