In 2023, China's major coastal ports handled a total of 5.98 billion metric tons of inbound cargo and 4.86 billion metrics tons of outbound cargo. By freight type,more than a billion metric tons of coal and related products were processed outbound, while about 929 million metric tons were treated inbound.
