In 2023, approximately 1.03 million births and 0.68 million deaths of the total resident population were registered in Guangdong province in China. The relaxation of the one-child policy and its final abolition in 2016 had a positive effect on the number of births in Guangdong. However, figures since 2020 indicate that the number of births has fallen back to previous levels.
