According to a survey conducted in South Korea from late 2020 to early 2021, around ten percent of medical students stated that they were specializing in internal medicine. Other popular specializations included family medicine at 9.1 percent and pediatrics at nine percent. This closely mirrored the current leading medical specializations of doctors in South Korea.
