Based on a survey carried out in May 2021, awareness of crowdfunding in Germany varies based on the level of education. According to the survey, there was a higher number of respondents with higher education who were familiar with crowdfunding in 2021. 86.7 percent of the respondents with higher education heard of crowdfunding, and 58.2 percent of these respondents knew what it was. In contrast, only 53.6 percent of the respondents with lower education heard about crowdfunding, and only 25.9 percent of these respondents knew what crowdfunding was.
