In 2021, the number of active mobile broadband subscriptions in Sub-Saharan Africa amounted to 448 million. Compared to the previous year, this was an increase from 409 million. Overall, subscriptions for mobile broadbands in the continent increased rapidly, starting at only 14 million subscriptions in 2010.
