A survey conducted in May 2021 asked Canadian shoppers how likely they would be to use certain smartphone features to search for products online. Some 37 percent of shoppers answered that they would be quite likely to find out more information about items they are interested in by scanning the item with their smartphone camera, and 17 percent reported that they would be very likely to do the same thing.

The study was conducted by combining Foresight Factory's proprietary data methodologies and existing trends intelligence, with newly commissioned quantitative and qualitative research across 12 global markets, including 1,657 Canadian respondents, in May 2021, with interlocking quotas set for age and gender.
