According to a survey of social media users in Italy, as of June 2021, approximately 56 percent of internet users who reported engaging more with social media platforms compared to before the coronavirus pandemic outbreak were men. By comparison, women who reported using social media networks more represented 44 percent of the total. As of March 2022, over 52 percent of Instagram users in Italy were women.
