Battery-electric vehicles had an average range of 349 kilometers (around 216.86 miles) in 2021. While electric vehicle range had been steadily increasing over the past years, it did not match consumer expectations. Plug-in hybrid electric vehicles, while also recording a range growth, are far below these expectations, which suggests a reliance on fuel in these models.
