Since 2002, major power sector projects have been carried out in Nigeria. Among these, 217.01 million Units of Account (UA), the highest amount, was committed to Dangote Industries Limited's refinery and fertilizer projects, approved in 2014. This project aimed to construct and operate a new greenfield crude oil refinery and a greenfield fertilizer manufacturing plant. Moreover, around 119 million UA have been committed to the Nigeria Transmission Expansion Project Phase 1, approved in November 2019 and scheduled to be completed in December 2024. According to the source, this project aims to support the reformation and upgrade of the electricity transmission lines and substations.
