The share of immigrants in Norway who completed their upper secondary education within the normative length of studies between 2015 and 2021 was only around 47 percent. On the other hand, nearly two thirds of descendants of immigrants completed their secondary education within the normative time, which was only a little less than the non-immigrant population. Upper secondary education in Norway is voluntary and is divided into programs preparing for further higher education, and vocational programs. The number of both immigrants and descendants in upper secondary education in Norway increased over the past 10 years.
