According to a survey conducted in October 2021, a majority of nearly 82 percent of participants in Tokyo were unfamiliar with the term "SOGI". In contrast to that, only about five percent of respondents knew the term and its definition.
The acronym SOGI stands for "sexual orientation" and "gender identity".
