Major transportation projects have been carried out in Ghana since 1978. Among these, 109.72 million Units of Account (UA), the highest amount, was committed to the construction of the 147.5-kilometer Fufulso-Sawla Road project, completed in 2018. Moreover, around 89 million UA have been committed to the Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL) Capital Investment Programme, approved in 2015. According to the source, this project aimed at constructing a new terminal at the Kotoka International Airport (KIA) in Accra and rehabilitating other airports managed by the GACL including the Kumasi, Tamale, Ho and Wa Airports.
