Free ad-supported video-on-demand (AVOD) platforms were highly popular across some European countries. A survey found that AVOD services were most popular in Spain and Germany, with nearly 90 percent of consumers in both countries reporting that they access AVOD services at least once a week. By contrast, only about one third of connected TV viewers from the Netherlands reported regular AVOD service usage.
