According to a survey conducted in South Korea in 2021, both men and women between the ages of 18 and 29 years reported the highest rate of alcohol abuse over the past year, at 2.7 percent and 2.3 percent respectively. Among female respondents, the prevalence of alcohol abuse dropped off after 39 years of age, while among male respondents prevalence was more widely spread out among all age groups.
