Africa received around 26 percent of the total global climate finance flows between 2016 and 2019, ranking the region as the second-highest beneficiary, just behind Asia. This corresponded to an annual average of 18.5 billion dollars in climate-related development finance. Compared to the period between 2010 and 2015, Africa's share of the global climate finance flows slightly increased.
