In 2021, the joint venture between Shanghai Automotive Industry Corporation (SAIC), and Volkswagen reported revenues of about 159 billion yuan, a decrease of 8.7 percent compared to the previous year. SAIC-Volkswagen is a Sino-German joint venture founded in 1984 in Shanghai.
