The total number of teachers in service in upper secondary schools in Sweden increased slightly between the academic years 2013/14 and 2021/22. Moreover, while the number of teachers born in Sweden increased by just below 1,000 during this period, the number of teachers born abroad increased by over 1,200 in the same period. During the same year, around 30 percent of students in upper secondary schools in Sweden had a foreign background.
