Canada's greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions resulting from the chemical industry have been on a mostly declining tendency since 2005. In 2021, such emissions amounted to some 5.7 million metric tons of CO₂ equivalent, down from 5.9 million metric tons of CO₂ equivalent one year earlier.
