U.S. voters support for stricter gun laws after mass shootings, 2022

According to survey data from May 25, 2022, 65 percent of voters favor stricter gun control laws in the United States. Five percentage points higher than 60 percent in a May 14 survey, and the highest level of support since the August 2019 shootings in El Paso and Dayton.

On May 24, 2022 a shooter fatally shot nineteen students and two teachers, injuring seventeen other people at an Elementary school in Uvalde, Texas.

On May 14, 2022 a mass shooting occurred in a supermarket in Buffalo, New York. Ten people were killed and three others were injured.
