Drug shortages are an increasing concern among the general population in Italy, with almost 3.2 thousand drugs scarcely available as of January 2023. However, for around half of these drugs the shortage is related to the discontinuation of their production. Medicines that can be difficult to find are mainly antiviral, anti-inflammatory drugs, and antibiotics. This statistic shows the number of medicines scarcely available in Italy, as of January 2023.
