This share was lower among Gen Y and Gen X with less than half of Millennials and a less than a quarter of Gen X respondents going out to discos or clubs. The figures are based on a survey conducted in Germany in 2024. The Allensbach Market and Advertising Media Analysis (Allensbacher Markt- und Werbeträgeranalyse or AWA in German) determines attitudes, consumer habits and media usage of the population in Germany on a broad statistical basis.

The various labels for the generations refer to the birth years of the respondents. Classification differs depending on the source, the most widely used are presented in the statistic.
Generation Z: people who were 15 to 28 years old at the time of the survey and born between 1996 and 2009. Generation Y: people who were 29 to 43 years old at the time of the survey and born between 1981 and 1995. This generation is often referred to as Millennials. Generation X: people who were 44 to 58 years old at the time of the survey and born between 1966 to 1980.
Baby boomers: people who were 59 to 68 years old at the time of the survey and born between 1956 to 1965.
As the Allensbacher Markt- und Werbeträgeranalyse (Allensbach market and advertising media analysis) includes data on the population aged 14 and older, the complete age span of Generation Z cannot be displayed.
Information on total sample: 2023: 23,524 respondents, representing to 70.08 million people
Information on target group "Generation Z (15 to 28 years)": Representing 12.5 million people
Information on target group "Generation Y (29 to 43 years)": Representing 15.76 million people
Information on the target group “Generation X (44 to 58 years)”: Representing 16.42 million people
