In 2021, the sales generated from traditional Korean markets through the food delivery app Coupang Eats increased the most in the central district Jung District, reaching an annual sales growth of 452 percent. Traditional Korean markets usually rely heavily on walk-in customers who had stopped coming due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Coupang Eats, subsidiary of Coupang Inc., which is best known as an open market platform, had started a program for the revitalization of traditional markets, incorporating 52 markets and 300 affiliated stores in their delivery app.
