Wheat consumption Egypt 2017/2018-2021/22

In the 2021/2022 marketing year, the wheat consumption in Egypt amounted to 20.5 million metric tons. This was a slight drop compared to the previous year when 20.6 million metric tons of the grain were consumed. Wheat is important both as an Egyptian staple and for the country's growing population. Its consumption has generally been on the rise in the five marketing years reviewed.
