As of February 2023, MSC Irina was the largest mega container ship in the world with a capacity of more than 24,000 TEUs. It was built in 2021 by the Chinese Jiangsu Yangzijiang Shipbuilding Group in South Korea and is being operated by Mediterranean Shipping Company.
