Main origin of overnight tourists in selected European cities 2019
Out of the listed European cities, Barcelona had the highest share of non-European hotel overnights in 2019. In that year, around four out of ten hotel nights in the Spanish city were spent by long-haul visitors. By contrast, the Estonian and Lithuanian capitals were the cities with the lowest percentage of hotel overnights by tourists outside Europe. Meanwhile, Oslo in Norway was the city with the highest share of hotel overnights by domestic travelers.
