By far the biggest concern over the next six months for experts in the footwear industry is the cost of merchandise or raw materials, according to a survey conducted in April 2022. Worries over insufficient demand, both in home and overseas markets, also troubled the experts.

Geographical split of responses: 57 percent from Europe, 22 percent from Asia, 9 percent from South America, 8 percent North America, and 4 percent from Africa.
30 percent of respondents were involved in footwear manufacturing
(manufacturers) 18 percent footwear trade and distribution (traders) and 52 percent in other footwear-related activities, including trade associations, consultancy, journalism, etc.
