In March 2022, the majority of the Turkish people expressed that they did not believe the European Union would have accepted their country as a full member even if Turkey met all the criteria. Only 29 percent of the public stated that the EU would approve Turkey's EU membership, whereas 63 percent said it would not.

The public poll was carried out by stratified sampling and weighting method in 28 provinces based on 26 regions according to the NUTS 2 system throughout Turkey.
