In 2020, cocoa beans were harvested over an area of 1.26 million hectares in Nigeria. Within the observed period, the harvested area of the crop product generally fluctuated, reaching the largest expansion in 2010, 2012, and 2019, at 1.27 million hectares each year. Nigeria is one of the leading exporters of cocoa in Africa.
