In 2022, Germany's average number of daily passenger trips per capita amounted to approximately 2.99 journeys, a minor increase compared to the previous year but still lower than the average number of trips before the pandemic. In 2022, the most common mode of transport was private vehicles, with about 47 percent of the total passenger trips per person per day. However, while private motorized transport trips are still lower than pre-pandemic, walking and cycling trips have grown beyond pre-pandemic levels.
